The Hunting Of The Snark – Sherman Theatre

When I was offered the chance to review The Hunting Of The Snark at the Sherman Theatre with my family I couldn’t say no. We are a family that would much prefer an afternoon at the theatre over an afternoon at the cinema.

The Hunting of The Snark is a co-production with Alice House and RGM Productions and is a new musical, family adventure based on the nonsense poem by Lewis Carroll  (author of Alice in Wonderland)

The snark is a fictional animal species created by Lewis Carroll in his nonsense poem The Hunting of The Snark. His descriptions of the creature were, in his own words, unimaginable, and he wanted that to remain so.

This musical comedy adventure featuring puppetry, lashings of silliness and an original soundtrack that will delight, excite and entertain the whole family will be showing at the Sherman Theatre from 19th – 30th July before the Snark sets off on a world tour including Hong Kong and further sightings across the globe.

My husband and I took our four year old son to see the show. The Snark is aimed at families with children aged 7+ however my son really enjoyed himself and was captivated by the puppetry, great music and story.

As we left the theatre my son said that the Snark was super cool and he had a great time. I had lots of kisses and hugs for taking him to see it so it must have been good!!

The music was great, the atmosphere was great and all who performed were great. I would highly recommend this fun family show to kick-start the summer holidays.
